(2) Gearbox Internal Parts Kit
The new gearbox has lessened the inevitable shock in gearchanging through the adoption of constant-mesh gears. Our knowhow accumulated from long experience has assisted us in designing the various parts using highly durable and heat-resistant material. The gear ratios, as shown in the chart, have been set between the present standard and the alternative higher ratios. The final drive ratio has been chosen to suit a wide range of uses, from gravel to tarmac.
The gearbox unit for the Lancer Evolution V,VI model has already been homologated by the FIA in accordance with the variant option. The unit for the Evolution VII model has already been applied for and is expected to be homologated as of April 1, 2001.
